Experienced High School and University Tutor
Hi! I'm Lana and I am a graduate from the fully academically selective Perth Modern School (2019) and a current student at the University of Western Australia. I can tutor high school students of all ages in Economics, Politics and Law, Literature/English, Design and Italian, as well as select commerce units
I am very passionate about these subjects, and have chosen to tutor others as I enjoy helping others and instilling a genuine joy for learning and drive for success. With three years of tutoring experience under my belt, I understand the pressures and stress that the final years of school, as well as the start of university, most often bring to students. I believe that having a mentor that can prepare you to the highest possible level for tests and exams, as well as offer general support and motivation, is key to mitigating and coping with this stress. I am also able to share many general tips and pieces of advice on how to keep organised, how to maximise productivity and get the most out of your study, as well as how to manage your time.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL SESSION LOOK LIKE?
This depends on the subject and the student, I tailor my lessons based on what the student feels they need. Generally the types of things I can do during a lesson include teaching/revising content, going through practice questions, editing and providing feedback on essays and responses, assisting with assignments, and answering general questions about topics, school, uni, anything!

Summer revision course is a bit more structured, and is designed to familiarise students with content and question formats prior to commencement in February.
CAN YOU PROVIDE ADDITIONAL RESOURCES?
Yes! I have practice papers and questions, model responses, past essays and examples (where relevant) for every subject.
CAN I CONTACT YOU OUTSIDE OF LESSON TIME?
Of course! I am available 7 days a week to answer questions through email or text (but don't ask me to edit a whole essay ;) )
WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE?
Summer course will be running on Mondays and Fridays. Due to the nature of my schedule I am quite flexible so I can discuss lesson times with individuals. Lessons do not have to be at the same time each week.
HOW DO YOU ACCEPT PAYMENT?
I am happy to take cash or bank transfer. If using bank transfer, please pay either before the lesson or 24 hours after the lesson occuring.
OK...WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE YOU?
As seen by my credentials, I have scored very highly in the subjects that I tutored, achieving the top mark or one of the top marks in my school and the state for most subjects that I tutor. Therefore, I know all things you need to do in order to stand out from the other students in tests and exams. I am genuinly passionate about the things that I tutor, and unlike older teachers and tutors, I can directly relate to today's uni and high school students and have first hand experience with the current curriculum. As an economics major and involved with economic analysis through extracurricular activities, I can especially provide a deep insight into current economic events when tutoring economics.
